Predeal City is located in the Brasov county near the Predeal pass, the most important way to pass from Muntenia to Transilvania.
|
From tourists point of view, Predeal is located Valea Prahovei touristic zone.
The city is bordered by five mountains: Postavarul, Piatra Mare, Bucegi, Baiului and Fetifoiu.
In the Southern part and in the Northern part can be seen the Timis, respectively Prahova spring rivers.
A part of the city is located on the Prahova river borders.

In the past, the border between Austro-Hungarian Empire and Romania passed through the city.
The altitude of the city is between 1000 and 1159 m.
Mean temperature is approximately 14 C degree in the summer and -5 C degree in the winter.
The snow layer can be more than meters and can resist more than 100 days/year.

Access
Predeal is located at a distance of 25 km from Brasov.
From Buchares the city can be reached following DN1-E15 (142 km) or on the railway.
